You will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation for your country, and a finer world to live in...” said Martin Luther King Jr. Good Samaritan Ministries for Batwa Action (GSMBA) is a Community Based Organization, non-profit making, non-political, non- denominational and non-sectarian organization founded in 2008 by Rev. Fr. Ignatius Arinaitwe, a young Catholic Priest from Kabale Diocese Southwestern of Uganda and currently serving in the same Diocese. Inspired by Martin Luther King Jr, Rev. Fr. Ignatius Arinaitwe has thus given hope to the lowly and marginalized groups especially the Batwa (Pygmies). GSMBA is currently registered as a Community Based Organization under Kabale District Local Government under Reg. no. 1037 and is operating in this very region (Southwestern Uganda). About GSMBA VISION GSMBA’s vision is ‘to Mobilize, Empower and Transform the poor and marginalized masses more so the Batwa, attain a self sustaining community. MISSION GSMBA’s mission is ‘to get in touch with, organize the poor and marginalized groups through collective and active participation; to alleviate poverty and other forms of backwardness through; Education, Health care services, Food through improved Agriculture, Human rights advocacy, Shelter and above all Evangelization. OBJECTIVES -To mobilize the marginalized groups especially the Batwa in order to achieve a sustainable development geared toward self-reliance. -To help such unprivileged groups participate in undertakings such as the programs for modernization of Agriculture and other ongoing development and investment programs in the region meant to alleviate poverty and other forms of backwardness in rural areas. -To assist the marginalized groups through collective and active participation in capacity building whilst educating and evangelizing them to modify their ways of life. -To advocate and secure the human rights of minority groups
